Sniper Elite studio announces new survival-action game ‘Atomfall’

Rebellion Developments are known best for their work on the Sniper Elite franchise, having released 5 mainline entries in the series alongside a bunch of spin-offs. With Sniper Elite’s success secured, the team have now announced a brand new single-player survival-action IP: Atomfall.

Announced during the Xbox Games Showcase, Atomfall is a single player, survival-action game which “blends post-war Britain with Cold War paranoia, folk horror, and elements of classic British sci-fi like Day of the Triffids, Doctor Who and The Prisoner, to create an immersive and thrilling gameplay experience.”

“Inspired by a real-world nuclear disaster that occurred in northern England in 1957,” Atomfall contrasts the “rolling British countryside with idyllic pubs, quaint villages, and red phone boxes” with a sinister undertone and plenty of mystery/intrigue.

No release date was given, but Atomfall will arrive day-one on Xbox Game Pass when it launches some time next year.

KitGuru says: What do you think of the trailer? Should more games be set in England? What was your favourite new IP from the showcase? Let us know down below.
