Gigabyte’s latest Control Center update fixes SPD-related issues

Gigabyte has launched a new version of the GCC software to fix issues reported by users. Moreover, the latest GCC version also brings various improvements to retrieving SPD information and enhanced SPD protection.

Gigabyte has received customer input about unexpected behaviour and difficulties while using certain brand memory modules with GCC. Following a comprehensive study, it was discovered that specific DDR modules did not meet JEDEC criteria, resulting in the failure of SPD write protection. Within a month, the problem was resolved by changing the BIOS to activate SPD write protection from the motherboard side, supporting consumers in avoiding and fixing the issue.

Gigabyte has also introduced significant enhancements in the current GCC software release in response to the discovered problem. These upgrades focus on optimising the retrieval of SPD information and enhancing SPD protection, providing consumers with a higher degree of confidence.

Users with concerns about this problem are recommended to visit the official website and immediately download the latest version of GCC (rev.23.12.06.01).
