Undead Labs may be gearing up to reveal State of Decay 3

June is just around the corner and studios/publishers are beginning to lock in their summer announcement plans. We've recently heard several rumours about upcoming announcements from the Xbox team. Recent reports have claimed we'll be getting our first look at Gears 6 this year and as it turns out, we may also finally see more from State of Decay 3.

Microsoft acquired Undead Labs back in 2018, just ahead of the launch of State of Decay 2, a game that is still getting updates now years after launch. Ahead of the Xbox Series X launch, State of Decay 3 was one of the early games we got a preview of for Xbox's next-gen plans.

According to Windows Central's Jez Corden, more State of Decay 3 news should also be just around the corner. If true, Microsoft's summer showcase plans for this year could be much bigger than previously anticipated. Aside from Gears 6 and State of Decay 3, we can also expect updates on Obsidian's upcoming RPG, Avowed, amongst other projects.

Microsoft has not officially announced a date for its next games showcase but it should be taking place in early June.

KitGuru Says: Undead Labs has long been known to have MMO ambitions for State of Decay. With the second game, we saw a bigger step into co-op gameplay. Perhaps we'll see another big leap with State of Decay 3.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
