Ubisoft Toronto joins Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake

Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has not had the best of time during its development. Announced back in 2020, the game was in development at Ubisoft Mumbai/Pune, however following a less-than-stellar first showing, the game was moved over to Ubisoft’s Montreal studio – with leaks claiming the game has since been completely rebooted. Aiding in this seemingly difficult task is Ubisoft Toronto, who have now been announced to also be working on the game.

Making the announcement via Twitter, the studio revealed that “Ubisoft Toronto is joining the development of the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time!”

They continued, “We’re excited to rewind time and bring our studio’s creativity, expertise and updated tech to refresh this beloved classic with our partners at [Ubisoft Montreal].”

What initially seemed like a rather simple job of bringing Prince of Persia back via a remake seems to have become more work than expected. Hopefully the final product manages to meet expectations.
