Capcom reportedly working on 5 separate Resident Evil games

The Resident Evil series is by far Capcom’s biggest, with the decades-long franchise seeing more than 150 million copies sold across its many games. Following its continued success with the likes of Resident Evil Village and RE4 Remake, the publisher is said to currently be working on nearly half a dozen entries in the series.

As reported by known Resident Evil insider DuskGolem (and shared by Reddit user KekanKok), Capcom is said to be working on a whole host of new Resident Evil titles, with the leaker saying:

“I know of 5 RE games in dev right now including RE9”. For context, DuskGolem previously reported on the status of Resident Evil 9, claiming at the time that it has been in development since 2018 and is planned to release some time in 2025 – not only giving it the longest development time of any RE game, but also the biggest budget.

DuskGolem also offered a small tease on one of the games in development, stating that “I got a…big update on a Resident Evil project literally yesterday, and I’m really excited for it. But it won’t be releasing until late 2026 or early 2027 most likely. So to just hold my tongue for now.”

Based on the fact that RE9 is supposedly coming out in 2025, it is unlikely to be the mysterious project that DuskGoldem is referring to. That said, with Capcom claiming that they plan to develop more remakes of their RE titles, the possibilities are nearly endless.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
