Kojima’s Xbox game officially titled ‘OD’ in new trailer

We've already talked about Hellblade 2 and Arkane's Blade but Xbox wasn't stopping there with its Game Awards announcements. Hideo Kojima also appeared on stage, alongside director film Jordan Peele, to discuss his upcoming Xbox game.

Kojima's Xbox exclusive title is officially titled ‘OD', which ties in with previous rumours that the game would be called Overdose. Somewhere along the way, it would seem that Kojima decided to shorten it.

The trailer didn't include gameplay, so it is more of a cinematic teaser. Kojima proclaimed that OD would be “a new form of media”, utilising cloud technology to try and push his experimentation further.

There is no launch date for OD yet but hopefully we'll hear more in the year ahead.

KitGuru Says: It is still too early to get a gauge on what this game will be like but Kojima has always produced good results so we'll have to wait and see.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
