Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad game will be playable offline but not at launch

While Rocksteady's previous superhero games have all been playable offline, the studio is taking a different approach with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which is set feature ‘live service' elements, which typically means an always-on connection is required. Fortunately after viewing some feedback, the team has now opted to go back and create an offline mode.

If you don't want to engage with the online elements of the Suicide Squad game, you won't be forced to. Well, you will be at first, as offline support won't be ready in time for the game's launch in February. However, the team is planning to “provide this update in 2024”, so it should arrive before the end of next year, Rocksteady confirmed via the game's official Discord server.

In the meantime, Rocksteady will have plenty of time to sell people on the online aspects of its game, something not really seen in the previous Batman: Arkham titles.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is on track to release on the 2nd of February 2024 for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
