Geralt will return in the next Witcher game

Many of us had assumed that CD Projekt Red would move away from Geralt being the lead character with its new trilogy. However, the game director on The Witcher 4 has now teased Geralt's return.

In an interview with Italian site Lega Nerd (via insider-gaming), Witcher game director, Sebastian Kalemba said: “I believe I can say it'll be an excellent entry point for many players, without forgetting the long-time fans who still wish to follow Geralt's adventures”.

That seems to be a pretty clear indicator that Geralt will still be around in this new Witcher trilogy. Whether or not he is the main playable character remains to be seen.

CD Projekt Red is currently developing The Witcher 4 (unofficial title) under the codename ‘Polaris', utilising Unreal Engine 5. The team working on the game has grown a lot this year as development on Cyberpunk 2077 started to wind down. Still, the game is not expected to release for several years.

KitGuru Says: While I'm not expecting to still be playing as Geralt full-time, I would be extremely happy to see CD Projekt Red continue to centre the games around him.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
