Assassin’s Creed Mirage to get NG+ and permadeath in upcoming patch

While perhaps not the entirely successful return to roots that OG Assassin’s Creed fans were hoping for, AC Mirage represents the biggest step in the right direction we have seen for years. Soon, the game will be getting even better, with an upcoming patch set to add a new game plus mode as well as a permadeath difficulty option.

Announcing the update on Twitter, the Assassin’s Creed team said “We hear you: New Game + mode for Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be available in a free update this December. And for the expert Assassins, along with NG+ will come an optional permadeath mode also available across all difficulties! More details to come soon.”

As explained by CD Projekt Red back in 2022 when fans were asking for a NG+ mode to come to Cyberpunk 2077, “NG+ for CP2077 is an incredibly complex feature to make. It's rebalancing the entire game (enemies, equipment, items) and tons of testing/tweaking; there's many skill checks in gameplay and dialogues, what happens here? How'd we handle/balance attribute + perk points.”

While obviously not a 1:1 comparison, it is encouraging to see Assassin’s Creed Mirage get a feature which isn’t always a guarantee nowadays. Likewise, the permadeath mode is a welcome addition for those who enjoy torturing themselves.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
