Hearthstone set to be the next Blizzard game to hit Steam

Ahead of merging with Microsoft, Blizzard made the decision to start bringing its games over to Steam, ending years of Battle.net launcher exclusivity. We've already seen Overwatch 2 and Diablo IV debut on Valve's PC gaming platform, and now, it looks like Hearthstone will be up next.

Outofgames did some data mining following Hearthstone's latest update and found strings of code directly referencing Steam, an account linking feature and an achievement syncing feature, so any achievements you've unlocked previously will also unlock on the Steam version of the game.

This would be the third major game of Blizzard's to land on Steam, although an announcement isn't expected until 2024 at this stage.

This news follows on from new Hearthstone updates at BlizzCon, during which the studio confirmed plans to introduce ‘catch-up' packs for new or returning players to get back into the game, as well as a new expansion set called Showdown in the Badlands.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
