Marvel Snap is the highest grossing digital card game of the year

Marvel Snap launched late last year to a great deal of fan fare thanks to the backing of the Marvel brand alongside easy-to-learn mechanics – making for a fun, quick paced overall experience. With the title nearing its 1st birthday, Marvel Snap is officially the highest-grossing game in the genre.

As reported by Forbes, Marvel Snap has grossed over $100 million since its launch on mobile back in October of last year. This easily makes it the highest grossing digital card game of the year, far surpassing its other contemporaries.

In 2023, Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel and Duel Links have in combination grossed a total of $55 million, with Magic: The Gathering Arena bringing in just under $20 million. This is closely followed by Hearthstone, grossing $18.6 million. Marvel Snap meanwhile managed an impressive $73 million since the start of the year.

With Marvel Snap finally launching on PCs last month, it will be interesting to see just how much bigger the game will get – and whether the team will be able to maintain its current trajectory.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
