Payday 3 open beta kicks off this weekend

Payday 3 is just a few weeks away from release but we'll all have an opportunity to play it a little early. Following on from a closed beta test in July, a fully open beta has now been announced and it kicks off later this week.

The beta will be available through Steam and Xbox Series X/S consoles. Unfortunately, no beta plans have been announced for the game's PlayStation 5 version, which may be in part due to the marketing deal between Starbreeze and Microsoft.

Content-wise, players will be able to play as the original gang of heisters, Dallas, Hoxton, Chains and Wolf. You'll have access to one major bank heist set in NYC, with options to go in loud or take a more stealthy approach. All in-game difficulty levels will be accessible but there are level caps in place, so you'll be able to get up to Infamy level 22 and Weapon Level caps out at 8.

Payday 3 officially releases on the 21st of September for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5. The open beta kicks off on September 8th and ends on September 11th.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
