Gamescom edition of Future Games Show announced

Gamescom is one of the biggest annual industry events, with all manner of developers and publishers taking to the convention to announce and show off their in-development titles. One of the convention’s annual attendees is GamesRadar’s Future Games Show. Once again, the showcase is returning later this month, bringing with it more than 50 games in total.

Making the announcement via a press release, the team confirmed that Gamescom will once again be home to a new edition of the Future Games Show. Going live on the 23rd of August at 7PM BST, the showcase will be hosted by Troy Baker (known for The Last of Us, Death Stranding and Bioshock Infinite to name a few) alongside Erika Ishii (Destiny 2, Apex Legends, Deathloop).

Offering a breakdown on what to expect, the Future Games Show will ‘showcase’ more than 50 titles, with “8 world premieres, exclusive trailers, a VR showcase, a ‘Ones to Play’ segment featuring titles with demos available to download and play immediately after the show, and a competition to win a PS5 or Xbox Series X.”

They also revealed a small list of just some of the developers and publishers that will be present at the event, namely Frontier Developments; Raw Fury; Thunderful Games; Nacon and Crunching Koalas.

Since its first showcase back during the Summer of 2020, the Future Games Show has managed to amass over half a billion views across its 10 prior shows. It will be interesting to see what is announced and shown off when Gamescom’s 2023 Future Games Showcase goes live on the 23rd of August. You can find details on Xbox’s plans for Gamescom HERE.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
