Saints Row gets massive Sunshine Springs update

One of the most disappointing games of 2022 was the Saints Row Reboot. Pitched as a new beginning for the popular franchise, many fans ultimately took issue with the reboot’s entirely different tone, lacking gameplay and more. For those still holding out hope for the game’s long-term success, a new update has now been released bringing many substantial changes.

Making the announcement on their blog, the Saints Row team said “We’re so excited for you all to get your hands on what we’ve been working on over these past several months. With all the excitement surrounding The Heist and The Hazardous campaign DLC launch, we wanted to take some time to explain all the work that underpins this – our biggest update to Saints Row yet!”

As mentioned, the number of changes and additions with this update is rather overwhelming, however some of the biggest improvements are as follows:

  • Santo Ileso is now even bigger, there’s even more for you to explore with the addition of Sunshine Springs, a sprawling oasis in the Rojas Desert
  • Combat improvements to aiming, crouching, takedowns, health and dodging
  • Re-timed the enemy reinforcement calls
  • Improved reaction animations for heavy weapons and takedowns
  • Made low-level skills much more useful
  • Selfie mode
  • UI improvements across the board
  • Altered voice lines
  • MANY bug fixes

The full patch notes can be found HERE, however the general gist seems to be that the team at Volition have listened to player feedback and have hopefully made Saints Row a much more fun experience. We will have to see.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
