The original God of War trilogy is getting a remake

Sony had a pretty big surprise announcement in store for fans during last night's State of Play showcase. The original God of War trilogy is making a comeback, remade from the ground up.

While God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarok brought the series to new heights through cinematic storytelling, many fans do miss the original hack and slash games in the series. Soon, fans new and old will be able to experience those original games with revamped graphics:

Fans will also be pleased to see that TC Carson, the original voice actor for Kratos, is returning for the remake project, although it is unclear if other characters will retain their original voice actors as well.

While the more recent God of War titles focused on Norse mythology, the original trilogy was entirely set in Greek mythology, with Kratos taking on a series of gods, from Zeus to Poseidon.

Unfortunately, no footage of the remake was shown in the trailer, but the remakes are now in active development, so we will hopefully get a better look at them in the next couple of years.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
