Nicolas Cage will become a playable survivor in Dead by Daylight next month

A few weeks ago, it was revealed through a short teaser trailer that Nicolas Cage will be coming to Dead by Daylight as a new Survivor character. Today during Summer Game Fest, Cage joined Geoff Keighley on stage to introduce the new gameplay trailer and release date announcement.

While Dead by Daylight typically focuses on licensed crossovers with other horror franchises, like Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Stranger Things, SAW, Scream and a ton of others, this is the first time we've seen Behaviour try something like this. Below is the gameplay trailer, which shows the Nicolas Cage survivor in action:

Now this isn't Nicolas Cage the person/celebrity, but rather “an exaggerated version of a film actor called Nic Cage”. If you saw The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, you'll be familiar with this concept. If you want to see the full on-stage interview, you can watch that here:

Cage voices all the lines for his character and there is lore and backstory to read up on. The DLC will be released on the 25th of July.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
