Homeworld 3 delayed to early 2024

It has been years since Gearbox first announced plans for Homeworld 3 but numerous delays have pushed the game back. After the cancellation of a Fig investment scheme in 2021, the game had been fully funded and was due to launch this year. However, the game has unfortunately been delayed again.

Homeworld 3 will no longer be released in 2023, but it will be arriving pretty early in 2024, with a new February launch window in place.

This new development time will be used to ensure the game “lives up to the standards set by its predecessors”. The team says the game is “shaping up” to do that, but at this point in time, the game needs more “time to refine and polish”.

The Homeworld games are cult classic RTS titles, with the first coming out in 1999 and the sequel arriving in 2003. A remaster of both games came out back in 2015.

KitGuru Says: Currently, the release schedule for early 2024 is looking pretty bare, so it's nice to finally have something solid on the calendar.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
