Microsoft will begin bringing Xbox games to Boosteroid in June

This month, Xbox began pushing ahead with its plans to bring its first-party games to rival cloud gaming services, starting off with GeForce Now. As we look ahead to June, Microsoft will be ramping things up, bringing Boosteroid on board. 

Boosteroid is one of the smaller Europe-based cloud gaming providers that Microsoft signed deals with as part of its effort to assuage anti-monopoly concerns from regulators as it looks to close its acquisition of Activision Blizzard. As the deal has not yet closed, Activision games like Call of Duty won't be hitting these cloud services yet, but Microsoft's current slate of first-party games will be heading over.

GeForce Now is getting Gears 5, Deathloop, Grounded and Pentiment this month. As of the 1st of June, this first batch of titles will also be available through Boosteroid's cloud gaming service as well. Microsoft promises to “regularly add more hits and fan favourites” from its catalogue of PC titles.

In the future, Microsoft will also begin supporting other cloud gaming providers across the globe, including the likes of Ubitus, Nware and EE. Assuming the acquisition of Activision Blizzard goes through, cloud providers will get access to those games too.

Currently, Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard is still in uncertain territory. While a number of countries, and the European Union, have approved the deal, the FTC is suing to block the deal and the UK's CMA has opted to block the deal. Microsoft will have to appeal the ruling in the UK and fight the FTC's lawsuit later this year.
