Mortal Kombat 1 DLC characters may include Homelander and Peacemaker

Earlier this week, plans for the next Mortal Kombat game leaked. At this point, we're looking at a fresh reboot of the series named Mortal Kombat 1. Now, an additional leak has revealed the first DLC characters planned for the game.

It never feels quite right to talk about DLC before a game is even out but at the same time, DLC characters are an expected part of a fighting game's life cycle at this point. According to Windows Central, there are two DLC characters already planned for Mortal Kombat 1, DC antihero Peacemaker and Homelander from The Boys.

Mortal Kombat has had plenty of guest characters over the years, including Terminator, Robocop and Rambo. However, it is also worth noting that guest DLC characters have appeared in rumours for past Mortal Kombat games and have not panned out.

NetherRealm is expected to officially announce the next Mortal Kombat very soon, with plans to release this year.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
