Nvidia introduces RTX Video Super Resolution with latest driver update

Atomic Heart has been out for about a week now, but Nvidia's latest driver should bring you a performance boost. Today's driver update is the Game Ready driver for Atomic Heart with DLSS 3, and also introduces RTX Video Super Resolution for the first time to improve streamed video quality.

With DLSS 3 enabled and the latest driver installed, the RTX 4090 gets a 90 percent performance boost in Atomic Heart at 4K resolution, paving the way for frame rates above 180FPS. The RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 Ti see similarly impressive performance boosts with DLSS 3 switched on, helping to remove CPU bottlenecks from the equation to achieve maximum performance.

This new driver also adds support for The Finals, a new F2P shooter from Embark Studios, which will utilise Nvidia's Reflex, DLSS and RTXGI technologies.

The most interesting part of this new driver update is the new RTX Video Super Resolution feature, utilising the Tensor Cores on RTX 30 and RTX 40 series GPUs to upscale videos streamed through Chrome or Edge on 1440p and 4K displays. RTX VSR uses AI to intelligently sharpen and enhance portions of the image and remove compression artefacts, something that you'll regularly see when using streaming services over a web browser.

You can download the new GeForce Game Ready driver through the GeForce Experience app now.
