Metroid Prime Remastered launches today after years of rumours

For years we've heard rumours of a Metroid Prime remaster, with some believing we'd get a full remastered trilogy and others thinking we'd just see the first game re-released. Those from the latter camp were indeed correct, with Nintendo finally announcing Metroid Prime Remastered today.

Metroid Prime Remastered is launching digitally today on the Switch eShop, meaning you can pick up your Switch and download it right now. A physical version will be available starting on the 22nd of February.

This remaster has been discussed ever since Nintendo announced Metroid Prime 4 with its infamous logo trailer. Given the long wait for Prime 4, many assumed we would see a remaster of the original game, or perhaps the trilogy.

We're just getting the one game for the time being, with upgraded HD graphics and for the very first time, dual-stick controls.

KitGuru Says: Metroid Prime Remastered is arriving after years of consistent rumours. It isn't the full trilogy some were hoping for, but it was still a nice shadow drop for the early part of the year.
