Cult of the Lamb’s first major free update announced

Cult of the Lamb released last year to a good deal of fanfare, due in part to the contrasting nature of the game’s narrative and themes mixed with the cutesiness of the art, characters and animation work. As promised last year, Cult of the Lamb was announced to be getting a bunch of free post-launch DLC – the first of which has now been named and dated.

Announced as part of the most recent Nintendo Indie World Showcase, Cult of the Lamb: Relics of the Old Faith is the first major piece of post-launch DLC being released for the rogue-lite title. Arriving in just a few short days on the 24th of April, Relics of the Old Faith brings with it:

“A brand-new post-game storyline in which a mysterious being asks you to conquer revamped crusades, enemies and bosses with the help of Relics; usable items that bestow unique effects upon the Lamb, enhancing combat in a multitude of different ways.”

New content aside, the game as a whole is set to get some new mechanics, primarily in the form of combat improvements – namely the addition of Heavy Attacks, “which enable the Lamb to embark on deeper and more challenging expeditions than ever before.”

Alongside this, the cult management aspect of the game is also receiving a lot of additional love, with players being able to “assign a Follower to do the meal prep for you in the Kitchen, cooking up to 30 meals for your hungry flock, and solve their sleeping problems with Shared Shelters that house up to 3 Followers”. Additionally, players will now be able to construct a crypt in order to bury deceased followers in a much more space-efficient manner.

Last but certainly not least, this update will introduce a whole host of new animal forms, including badgers, penguins, racoons and more – perfect for the photo mode which will also be arriving with the Relics of the Old Faith update.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
