Resident Evil 4 Remake sold three million copies in just two days

We already knew that Resident Evil 4 Remake was off to a great start after seeing the number of concurrent players over the launch weekend, in addition to high praise from reviews ahead of release. Now, Capcom has revealed more specific sales numbers, with RE4 reaching three million sales in half as much time as Resident Evil Village. 

Resident Evil 4 Remake sold three million copies during its first two days on sale, Capcom has announced. For comparison, it took Resident Evil 3 Remake five days to sell two million copies, and it took Resident Evil Village four days to surpass three million sales.

With Resident Evil 4 Remake looking like a huge hit for Capcom, it should come as no surprise that the RE franchise as a whole has also surpassed a new milestone. To date, 135 million games in the Resident Evil franchise have been sold.

Recently it came to light that Resident Evil 4 Remake could be due for a story expansion at some point. References to Separate Ways, a side-campaign that shipped with some versions of the original Resident Evil 4, were found in the files for the remake, indicating that the additional campaign will be released as DLC for the remake at some point.
