Paradox announces Cities: Skylines 2

Cities: Skylines was impressive back when it launched in 2015 and thanks to numerous expansions in the years since, the game is still going strong today. It is time for something new though and with that in mind, Paradox has today announced a sequel.

Cities: Skylines 2 was announced today during the Paradox Showcase, aired in partnership with Xbox. The game is being built exclusively for next-gen platforms, so don't expect to see it on Switch, PS4 or Xbox One.

The description for the game promises a city-building game that lets players “create and maintain cities that come to life like never before”. The game will have “fully-realised transport and economy systems, a wealth of construction and customisation options and advanced modding capabilities”.

Cities: Skylines 2 will release in 2023 for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

KitGuru Says: Cities: Skylines hooked me for many hours back at release, so I'll be looking forward to jumping back in for the sequel. We didn't get gameplay in the announcement trailer, so I am a little sceptical on the 2023 release window, but hopefully we'll have an update sometime this summer.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
