Microsoft Flight Simulator World Update XII released

Ever since Microsoft Flight Simulator first launched back in 2020, the game has seen a string of continuous updates with the team at Asobo Studio going over the game with multiple coats of gloss. After updating regions such as the UK, Europe, Australia and more, Microsoft Flight Simulator has now gotten its 12th world update: New Zealand.

Making the announcement on the Xbox blog, Jorg Neumann, the Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator said “Microsoft Flight Simulator World Update XII: New Zealand beckons all to experience the expansive beauty that the country has to offer, reproduced in stunning photo-realistic quality. The jewel of the southwestern Pacific, born of volcanic fire and hewn by the sea and sky, New Zealand is globally renowned for its breathtaking vistas.”

As with previous world updates, the devs have gone in with a fine-toothed comb, building many of the country’s most iconic landmarks and places – featuring 7 new cities alongside 62 handcrafted points of interest.

The full list of improvements added with World Update XII is as follows:

  • 7 new cities
    • Auckland
    • Christchurch
    • Hamilton
    • Nelson
    • Queenstown
    • Tauranga
    • Wellington
  • 62 handcrafted points of interest
  • 9 handcrafted airports
  • 3 bush trips
  • 3 discovery flights
  • 4 landing challenges

Like with previous World Updates, all players will benefit from this free update, continuing to make Microsoft Flight Simulator not only one of the most impressive flight sims, but one of the most impressive models of the Earth which we can freely explore. Hopefully the team continues to keep up the good work.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
