Injustice 3 appears to be deep into development

NetherRealm boss, Ed Boon has teased Injustice 3 in the past, but for the past decade or so, the studio has been primarily focused on Mortal Kombat. It might be time for a grand return though, as a new report claims that Injustice 3 is now in development.

MP1st, a site that has been very active with leaks over the past year, reports that one WB Games artist recently confirmed that they are working on Injustice 3. This, tied in with previous slip-ups from Injustice voice actors indicates that the game is well into development at this stage and could be announced officially this year.

Injustice is a fighting game series, which takes inspiration from the likes of Mortal Kombat, but with a DC superhero twist. The games are also known for their excellent single-player campaigns – Injustice 2 in particular had some of the best cinematic moments for its time.

It has been around three years since NetherRealm's last release, so Injustice 3 may be confirmed at something like a State of Play, or at the next major EVO tournament.

KitGuru Says: I was a huge fan of Injustice 2 so would be excited to see the series finally return. Injustice 3 has appeared in rumours plenty of times in previous years though, and nothing has panned out yet.
