HITMAN 3 rebranded to include the first two games completely for free

IO Interactive have been making a lot of great moves when it comes to the HITMAN franchise. Previously, those who owned the entire trilogy would be able to experience all three titles within HITMAN 3. Now, anyone who owns the 3rd game will be given HITMAN 1 and 2 for free, as the former is being rebranded to ‘HITMAN – World of Assassination.’

Making the announcement on their blog, the team at IOI said “In 2015, we shared our vision for the World of Assassination; an ever-expanding game that would evolve over time and be the foundation for future HITMAN games. Those were the exact words we used and a central promise to how we’ve released the three games in the 7 years that followed.”

They continued, “Today, we’re excited to announce some upcoming changes to how our players (both existing and new) will experience, access and purchase HITMAN 1, HITMAN 2 and HITMAN 3. These changes will make it easier than ever to enter and enjoy the World of Assassination – and finally allow us to realise the vision we set out to achieve.”

This revamp will take place on the 26th of January and will mean that from then onwards, HITMAN 1 and 2 will be delisted, with only HITMAN – World of Asassination being available to purchase. Of course, this new SKU will include all three games, meaning it is simpler than ever to experience everything that this latest trilogy has to offer. What’s more, anyone who already owns HITMAN 3 will automatically be upgraded to the World of Assassination version, meaning you’ll gain access to all three games worth of content whether you previously owned them or not.

It is worth noting that HITMAN – World of Asassination will not net you everything, as a IOI will also be selling a ‘Deluxe Pack’ – essentially some DLC which includes 2 destinations, 2 sniper maps, the 7 deadly sins experience and half a dozen deluxe escalations and contracts. Even without this Deluxe Pack however, this World of Assassination revamp is wholly welcome.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
