Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 has already surpassed 25 million players

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 broke a number of franchise records when it first launched a few weeks ago. Now, that momentum has helped push the launch of Warzone 2.0 to new heights, surpassing 25 million players in less than a week.

The original Warzone was a huge release for Activision, finally bringing a huge free-to-play Call of Duty game to the market. The original version of Warzone reached 30 million players in ten days. Warzone 2.0 has already surpassed 25 million players in just five days.

While Warzone 2.0 is proving popular for now, it does have its own share of problems that need to be addressed. For starters, the UI really stands out as poor and is confusing to navigate, particularly for those returning to Call of Duty after an extended break. Aside from that, there are a few bugs that need to be addressed too, including the return of the player invisibility bug.

Warzone 2.0 launched on the 16th of November and also brought along the first season pass for Modern Warfare 2. Both games are available on current-gen and last-gen consoles, as well as PC.

While its sequel has failed to make the same level of splash, the team are apparently working on a brand new game – this one being inspired by Titanfall.
