River City Girls 2’s delayed Western release date has now been announced

After great anticipation, River City Girls 2 finally released on the 1st of December…in Japan. Unfortunately, the game’s Western release was pushed back citing the need for “a bit more time”. Though no release date was given then, the team at WayForward have now announced that River City Girls 2 is coming to Europe and America next week.

Making the announcement on their blog, developer/publisher WayForward said “Break out the baseball bats, polish the brass knuckles, and start practicing your dabs — at last, River City Girls 2 has a release date! We are thrilled to announce that the highly anticipated brawler is scheduled to launch digitally in North America and Europe on December 15, 2022.”

This marks a two-week delay over the game’s Japanese release, and while internationally staggered releases still happen, it is quickly becoming less common with each passing year.

Of course, as mentioned the game was originally planned for a simultaneous worldwide release on the 1st of December – though this was ultimately altered due to reasons not shared by the studio.

Fortunately, a two-week delay is rather minor, especially when compared to other staggered game releases in the past, and so it is exciting to see that in just over a week Western fans will be able to get their hands on this much-anticipated sequel to a well-loved indie brawler.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
