Ace Combat 7 has sold over 4 million copies

Back in early 2021, we reported that Ace Combat 7 – the latest entry in the long-running and well-loved arcade-style flight combat game franchise – had sold 2.5 million copies within its first two years on the market. Since then, support for the game has not slowed down, with the title now officially surpassing 4 million copies sold.

Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Ace Combat page said (as translated by Twitter itself) “‘ACE COMBAT 7: SKIES UNKNOWN’ has sold over 4 million copies worldwide! We are releasing a commemorative wallpaper to express our gratitude to all the ace pilots around the world. Thank you for your continued support!”

The Wallpaper – which can be found HERE – features 4 jets flying in unison – with each one presumably representing one million copies sold.

Since its inception all the way back in 1995, the Ace Combat series has amassed a dedicated audience of fans who enjoy the series not only for its fun gameplay, but also unique and slightly off kilter story – and of course the series’ excellent soundtracks.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
