No Man’s Sky Swarm update adds new enemies, space combat variety and more

No Man’s Sky is the gift that won’t stop giving. Less than two months since the last major patch – which introduced a whole new Pokemon-inspired monster capturing / battling system – the team at Hello Games are back with yet another update. Officially available right now, the ‘Swarm’ Update brings new enemies, improved space combat and more.

Available to download right now, The Swarm Update is one of No Man’s Sky’s smaller releases. Even so, the update still brings in a ton of welcome and surprise additions, including but not limited to:

  • New competitive multiplayer Expedition
  • New Hive of Glass ‘monstrous’ alien starship
  • New Swarm enemy (found in space)
  • New unlockable customisation pieces
  • New land-based ‘planetary Swarmers’ enemy type
  • Direwasp Disintegrator multi-tool

The full list of changes and additions can be found HERE.

While this latest update is primarily focused on the multiplayer expedition, the Swarm update still features plenty of new and interesting mechanics; continuing to cement No Man’s Sky as perhaps the greatest supported game of all time – especially for free.

KitGuru says: What do you think of this latest update? Does the team-based expedition interest you? Is there anything left for Hello Games to add to No Man’s Sky? Let us know your thoughts down below.
