Blizzard announces new tank hero for Overwatch 2’s second season

Over the weekend alongside the Overwatch League Grand Finals, Blizzard revealed the next hero coming to Overwatch 2. In keeping with the company's plan to introduce a new hero every season, in December, alongside the game's Season 2 update, players will be greeted by a new tank hero.

Ramattra will be the next hero coming to Overwatch 2. This time around, Ramattra seems poised to be a tank with shield abilities.

In the Origin Story video, we learn more about Ramattra, a war machine leader of the Null Sector on a mission to create a better world for Omnics no matter the cost. Initially, Ramattra was a peaceful character that would primarily shield allies, but a switch flipped after encountering the harsh realities of battle.

We don't have any gameplay details yet, so we don't know what loadout or abilities the new hero will have. The background lore for the character indicates a shield ability, but that's all we can really guess for now. Season 2 kicks off on the 6th of December, so we'll all get the chance to try out the new character then. As we saw with Overwatch 2's first-season hero, Kiriko, there will be a grind in place to unlock Ramattra. If you buy the season pass, you'll unlock the new hero instantly. If not, you'll have to grind up to level 55 to unlock them for your roster.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
