Supermassive Games is working on a “new exciting and unannounced horror IP”

Supermassive Games has made a name for itself over the past many years through its offering of fun yet freaky horror games. Unsurprisingly, the team is not moving away from what they know best, with the studio inadvertently revealing that they are working on a new horror IP.

As discovered by Gamesual, Supermassive Games recently published a job listing for a ‘mid-level game designer’ in which the studio revealed that “We are looking for a talented and experienced Designer to join the team at Supermassive, to work on a new exciting and unannounced horror IP.”

Offering more details, the listing states that the game will feature “compelling gameplay spaces and locations to investigate, explore and survive” suggesting that this title may feature many more gameplay opportunities when compared to most of the studio’s previous horror offerings.

While not part of this listing, a previous job posting by the studio seemingly discussed the same game, claiming it to be a third-person multiplayer title focused on “dark stories” and “compelling puzzles.”

Supermassive Games has in the past been known best for their work on story-focused adventure choice-based horror titles. While many of their games do have some form of multiplayer component, the studio is primarily known for working on offline games, and so it will be interesting to see what the team has planned for this new and unannounced multiplayer IP.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
