A “Big” update is coming to the Xbox app for PC

Microsoft has been going all in on the PC market with its Xbox Game Pass service. This service requires the use of the Xbox app for Windows. Unfortunately, it is not very feature-complete especially when compared to other PC clients. That being said, according to Phil Spencer, a “Big” update can be expected soon.

As reported by The Verge’s Tom Warren, in a recent interview conducted by YouTuber iJustine as part of the ‘Same Brain’ podcast, Phil Spencer teased that “we’re doing a lot more work with PC, because I think PC is important. We’re have a big update to our Xbox app that’s actually coming in the next few weeks.”

Spencer did not detail what this update could bring with it, however the Xbox app does have many shortcomings when compared to other clients, and so it will be interesting to see what makes this upcoming update ‘big’.

In the wake of this statement, fans have begun to speculate what this update could be, with some suggesting it might offer a UI overhaul, while others are hoping for substantive features to come to PC such as the ability to play Xbox 360 games on PC. While the latter is unlikely to happen, a big update coming to the Xbox app is rather exciting regardless.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
