New Final Fantasy XVI trailer released

Last month, we reported that Final Fantasy fans could expect to see a new trailer for the upcoming FFXVI sometime in October. Three weeks in and a new Final Fantasy XVI trailer has dropped, reaffirming the game’s Summer 2023 release window.

The bombastic trailer is primarily focused on the story of Final Fantasy XVI and the climate in which the main characters find themselves – giving us a look at some of the socio-political relationships. That being said, we did also get another brief look at gameplay, particularly what appeared to be some rather impressive-looking boss fights.

As reported on previously, this trailer did not give us a concrete release date for the game – that will come with the next trailer – but it did reaffirm the fact that the title is planned for release some time in Summer 2023.

The synopsis for the Final Fantasy XVI Ambition Trailer is as follows:

“Who shall claim their fading light? From a single spark, will the land ignite. A new shadow rises to fall upon the Dominants, painting their destinies black as night. It has been fifteen hundred years since the fall of our forebears, and Valisthea has been slowly dying ever since. Darkness spreads as day gives way to twilight, the Mothers' flame now all but a flicker. And as the fringes fade, the people flock to the Mothercrystals.”

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
