Leaked casting script reveals details on next Tomb Raider game

Even prior to being sold to Embracer Group, Crystal Dynamics has been working on its next big Tomb Raider game. Nothing else is known officially, but a potential leak has revealed a few details.

The Sacred Symbols Podcast (via VGC) claimed to have obtained leaked script pages from the new Tomb Raider game, which is apparently being developed under the codename ‘Project Jawbreaker. Like CD’s previous Tomb Raider games, the next one will be an action adventure game set in a realistic, modern-day world facing a mysterious life-threatening event.

In this new game, Lara Croft will be a master of her craft and will have a team of fellow Tomb Raiders for this new adventure. The reboot trilogy periodically had Croft setting out with companions but would split off from them for the majority of the journey. The reboot trilogy was also largely a Lara Croft origin story, so moving on to an older and experienced version of the character is a natural next step.

Unfortunately, we can’t verify the authenticity of the leaked script. The next Tomb Raider game is also likely still some ways off from release so it could be another year or two before we see the game properly revealed.

KitGuru Says: There is mixed opinion about the idea of Lara Croft working with a full team, but I’d expect these to be side characters, rather than main characters that travel with you every step of the way. Are there any changes you are hoping to see in the next Tomb Raider game?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
