PlayStation Plus Extra game library gets huge update for August

Sony has updated the PlayStation Plus Extra game library for August. Most notably, a massive 5-hour game trial is now available for Death Stranding 2. However, there will be many full games joining the library too.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach launched for PS5 just over a month ago and achieved high praise. If you have a PS+ Premium subscription, you can now play as much as five hours of the game. Once your time runs out, you'll need to purchase the game, but your progress from the trial will carry over, so you won't have to start again.

The PlayStation Plus Extra catalogue of games is getting a bunch of titles this month too, including:

  • Mortal Kombat 1 (PS5)
  • Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered (PS4, PS5)
  • Sword of the Sea (PS5)
  • Earth Defence Force 6 (PS4, PS5)
  • Unicorn Overload (PS4, PS5)
  • Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & The Secret Key (PS4, PS5)
  • Indika (PS5)
  • Harold Halibut (PS5)
  • Coral Island (PS5)

PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers will get access to two extra classics – original versions of Resident Evil 2 & 3.

With rumours claiming that Sony is looking to once again re-enter the market, it is time we looked back to the portable PlayStation’s past successes, failures, and lessons (hopefully) learned for what (and what not) to do.
