Sniper Elite 5 mysteriously pulled from Epic Games Store

This week, Sniper Elite 5 officially launched across almost all planned platforms, including Xbox, PlayStation and PC. While the game was due to launch on Steam and the Epic Games Store at the same time, the game had to be temporarily pulled from Epic's store.

In a statement sent to VGC, Sniper Elite 5 studio, Rebellion, said that the change was “due to circumstances beyond our control” and means that the game will not be available on the Epic Games Store at launch as planned. Pre-orders for the game on EGS have been cancelled and refunded.

Sniper Elite 5 is still planned to come to the Epic Games Store “in the future”, but a specific date is not known at this time. Epic Games has also not issued a statement on the situation to clarify why the game was pulled at the last minute.

While the game isn't available on the Epic Games Store, it is out on Steam, as well as Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and the Windows Store. The game is also available through Xbox Game Pass.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
