Ubisoft is reviving Might & Magic with new game in development

The Might & Magic series has been dormant under Ubisoft for a while now but it looks like we could be due for a major comeback. New job listings have been spotted this week, showing that Ubisoft is now hiring for a ‘AAA' Might & Magic game.

The job itself calls for a Senior Brand Manager for Might & Magic in preparation for a new AAA game in the series. The game itself is in development at Ubisoft Shanghai, which currently has more than 600 employees.

Might & Magic has been around for decades at this point, but the mainline series has been on a break since 2014. Typically, Ubisoft Shanghai has worked as a support studio for Far Cry, but now it seems the studio will be heading up a revival for a classic franchise.

This isn't the only backlog series Ubisoft is currently revisiting. Right now, the publisher also has new Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell games in the works.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
