Resident Evil: Veronica revealed for PC, PS5, Xbox and Switch 2

Capcom's Resident Evil Remake series is expanding with a new entry. Just as rumours predicted, Resident Evil: Code Veronica is now getting the remake treatment and based on the trailer, it may feature first-person gameplay, which would make it the first of the remakes to add this in.

In the trailer for Resident Evil Veronica, we see everything from the first-person perspective, as Claire Redfield arrives to an eery apartment building in Paris in search of her missing brother. This would indicate that the full game will have a first-person gameplay option, while all of the previous remakes have been third-person instead. If that turns out to be the case, there should also be a toggle for first and third-person perspectives, just like in Resident Evil Requiem.

Resident Evil Veronia will be launching early next year, arriving for PC, PS5, Xbox and Switch 2 simultaneously. This matches the day-one support for Resident Evil Requiem, which impressively released on Switch 2 on day-one, during a time where many other AAA games were delaying their Switch 2 launches to iron out issues.

Resident Evil Code Veronica originally released in 2000 for the Sega Dreamcast. As with the other RE Remake games, we expect there to be a few changes to story here, in addition to the gameplay and graphics overhauls.

KitGuru says: At this point, Capcom should go all-in and give a proper remake to Resident Evil 1 as well.
