EK launches Quantum Vector water block for RTX 3090 Founders Edition

EK is kicking off 2021 with the launch of its Special Edition water block specifically for Nvidia's GeForce RTX 3090 Founder's Edition graphics card. Similarly to the RTX 3080 model, there will be two versions, one in silver and another in black, both featuring D-RGB lighting.

These water blocks come with two types of connection terminals, offering unrivalled versatility. Getting the most performance out of the RTX 3090 is key to the design of the water block, which is why EK has incorporated a 30 percent larger fin area compared to its other EK-Vector blocks.

Once fitted, your RTX 3090 will take up two slots in your case, although the block itself is a single-slot design. Similarly to the EK-Magnitude CPU block, the EK-Quantum Vector FE RTX 3090 D-RGB is CNC-machined. The block base is milled out of a 12mm thick piece of electrolytic copper, which is then nickel-plated. The top is CNC-machined out of a cast Acrylic material.

This water block is delivered with a set of connection terminals, allowing users to swap them out based on their needs. One terminal has two direct G1/4″ ports on the side, while the other one is more conventional, having four G1/4″ ports going through it. This allows terminals to be directly attached to the copper cold plate of the water block. Finally, the backplate also comes with a ribbed texture, increasing the surface area. The backplate also provides additional active cooling via a section in the backplate that makes contact with the coldplate, which is in turn cooled directly by liquid.

The EK-Quantum Vector FE RTX 3090 D-RGB full-cover water block will begin shipping in March 2021. Both the black and silver versions are priced the same, coming in at €329.90.
