Overwatch is free to play until early January 2021

If for some reason you've never tried Overwatch, or never purchased it since the 2016 launch, then you have plenty of time to give Blizzard's shooter a go over the Christmas break. From now until the 4th of January, Overwatch is free to play.

Overwatch has had plenty of free trials over the years, although they are usually shorter than this one. Over the next two weeks, anyone can download and play the game via battle.net.

As you would expect, the trial includes access to the full game, so you won't be missing out on any hero characters, maps or game modes.

If you do end up wanting to pick the game up, then you can grab it on sale. The standard edition is currently 23% off, bringing the price down to £12.99, meanwhile, the legendary edition, which includes some extra character skins and cosmetics, is 51% off, bringing the price down to £16.99.

KitGuru Says: Overwatch isn't the only Blizzard game on sale for the holiday season, you'll also find discounts on StarCraft, Diablo and WoW.
