World of Warcraft: Shadowlands beta begins next week

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is still on track for release later this year and soon, some fans will be able to test it out early for themselves. During a livestream this afternoon, Blizzard announced dates for the Shadowlands beta test, which kicks off next week.

Blizzard will be sending out closed beta invites next week but you can opt-in ahead of time by going to your Battle.net account and checking the option for receiving beta invites. If you are fortunate enough to get in, you can expect to check out a brand new zone and dungeons, as well as ‘max level challenges'.

During the stream, it was also confirmed that Shadowlands is feature complete, so the beta will contain an early look at endgame as well as an increased level cap compared to the alpha. Speaking of which, over 64,000 bugs were reported and squashed during closed alpha testing, which just goes to show how much of a task QA can be.

While invites are starting next week, more will be coming over the summer. After some time in beta, Blizzard will be able to pin down a release date and announce the Shadowlands launch.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
