xCloud and Game Pass may be coming to Samsung TVs

Back in February, Samsung and Microsoft announced a partnership which would see the console manufacturer’s streaming services come to Samsung devices. At the time, the announcement focused on Samsung’s smartphones, however an update to Samsung’s website suggests that the services could be coming to its line-up of smart televisions.

First spotted by ResetEra user ‘12Danny123’, the webpage is dedicated to Samsung Access for TV – “a new subscription that bundles select new Samsung TVs with Samsung Premium Care and premium content, all for one low monthly payment.”

According to the page, “with Samsung Access, you get your choice of a streaming or gaming service (up to a $120 value), included at no additional cost. Choose from Showtime, Sling TV, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, YouTube Music Premium, YouTube Premium or YouTube TV.”

Under the FAQ section, it clarifies that subscribers are given “the option to choose one of the services for a limited time (up to a $120 value)”. Though there is no explicit mention of Microsoft’s project xCloud, smart TV’s would have the ability to stream games (thanks to its WIFI and Bluetooth capabilities).

This wouldn't be the first time that game streaming was available directly from a TV either. Sony previously allowed PlayStation Now to be accessed directly from its lineup of Bravia televisions (though this was later discontinued).

With Microsoft and Samsung already confirming their partnership in the game streaming realm, it wouldn't be surprising to see xCloud come to Samsung’s TVs some time in the future. Of course, xCloud has yet to leave its early access phase, and so we’ll have to wait and see whether this pans out come its official release.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
