Resident Evil 3 physical copies may be delayed but digital release date remains unchanged

With the COVID-19 outbreak shaking up daily lives and business operations across the world, there is an increased possibility that games may be delayed. We already know that Final Fantasy VII may suffer a shortage of physical copies available at launch and now, Capcom is facing a similar problem with Resident Evil 3 Remake.

We'll start off with the good news, which is that a new Resident Evil 3 trailer has been released, so you can get another look at the game before its release next week. If you'd rather try it out for yourself, then a demo is available across PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Now onto the bad news for those that prefer to buy physical copies for their game collections. Today, Capcom released a statement saying that while the global release date for Resident Evil 3 remains unchanged, some European markets “may experience delayed deliveries or availability of physical goods, including disc copies of games”.

This has left to do with manufacturing and more to do with deliveries being delayed due to retailers closing their doors and other restrictions in place in various countries at this point in time. Capcom is going to “closely follow official regulations” and hopes to make physical copies available as soon as local import conditions allow.

KitGuru Says: Many of us on PC won't be affected by this but a lot of console owners may want to reconsider their physical pre-order if they are hoping to play on launch day. This is an unfortunate situation and one that may impact other releases this year.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
