Keighley teases Fallout, Resident Evil and more for Gamescom Opening Night Live

Gamescom Opening Night Live is just 24 hours away. The stream, hosted each year by Geoff Keighley, will bring along a string of new game announcements, as well as updates for previously announced games, including the likes of WoW, COD, Resident Evil and more.

In a teaser posted this afternoon, Keighley confirmed eight of the biggest games getting screen time during the Opening Night Live show. As previously confirmed by Blizzard, Opening Night Live will be the platform for the big reveal of Midnight, the next major World of Warcraft expansion and second part of the ‘Wouldsoul Saga', a trilogy of connected expansions for World of Warcraft.

Other games due to be shown at the event include Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Ghost of Yotei, Resident Evil Requiem, Ninja Gaiden 4, Silent Hill F, The Outer Worlds 2 and Fallout.

The specific logo used for Fallout is the same one from the Amazon Prime TV series. In all likelihood, this is a hint towards the trailer for the show's second season, which premieres in December. However, we may also see some smaller updates for the likes of Fallout 76, and recently there have been rumours of another update for Fallout 4.

Gamescom: Opening Night Live will be airing tomorrow, the 19th of August, starting at 7PM BST.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
