Switch 2 claimed to have a record breaking launch

The Nintendo Switch 2 had an impressive amount of stock for its launch weekend but ultimately, it did sell out in most places within the first 24 hours. Now, analysts are claiming record-breaking sales numbers for Nintendo's latest console.

The Nintendo Switch 2 has apparently sold as many as 3 million units worldwide since the launch on June 5th, according to Nintendo Prime. That would beat out Sony's PS4 record, which sold one million units in its first 24 hours.

Nintendo forecasts over 15 million Switch 2 sales during the current fiscal year, ending in March 2026. If it has already sold 3 million, then that would put it on track to achieving that goal. However, Nintendo will need to be capable of constantly replenishing stocks around the globe.
