Rockstar Games Social Club pulled offline ahead of GTA 6

The Rockstar Games Social Club is no more. Rockstar announced today that its online platform will be closing down later this month.

The Rockstar Social Club was widely used by GTA V players, as it allowed people to create their own ‘Crews' for easy team-ups in GTA Online. The Social Club would also track achievements and allow users to share custom missions and races for GTA Online.

It is unclear exactly why Rockstar is shutting down the social club, but it likely has everything to do with the upcoming launch of Grand Theft Auto 6. While GTA Online was popular in GTA 5, it did have its issues, such as a lack of protection against cheats. It seems likely that Rockstar will debut a new system for GTA 6, with increased security and cross-platform features so those on Xbox and PlayStation can team up.

Rockstar has not yet made any public announcements regarding GTA Online in GTA 6. Grand Theft Auto 6 is due to release in May 2026.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
