No Man’s Sky Beacon Update available now

Following their last major patch in late March, Hello Games is back with another massive free update to No Man’s Sky. Available right now, the Beacon Update brings with it settlement overhauls; building improvements and much more.

Available to download right now for free (as always), the Beacon Update focuses on No Man’s Sky’s building and settlement systems, with just some of the change/additions including:

  • The ability to oversee 4 different settlements
  • Historical records for your settlements
  • New Pyrotechnic spectacles for settlements
  • Rare Autophage settlements, populated by secretive robotic lifeforms and assembled from scrap and crystal
  • Inspect building details
  • Weathered construction materials
  • Completely reworked settlement systems offering greater choice and depth
  • Settler personalities

It continues:

  • Citizen disputes have been completely reworked and expanded
  • Expanded settlement customisation
  • New Autophage settlers
  • Settlement squadrons
  • New exosuit voice options
  • Settlement fishing
  • Richer citizen guidance
  • Custom resource production
  • Player voice options
  • New base parts
  • Much, much more

As with most No Man’s Sky updates, Hello Games have focused on one of the game’s many aspects and overhauled it to the nth degree. With so many of the game’s elements being improved, it feels as though there is very little else that Hello Games can do to enhance the experience further.

As we’ve seen for almost a decade now however, the journey of No Man’s Sky continues.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
