EA officially announces Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted

Earlier this year, the Brazilian game ratings board published a listing for Plants vs. Zombies Reloaded, suggesting that a remake or re-release of sorts was incoming for the first entry in the classic PopCap tower defence series. Sure enough, EA / PopCap have now officially unveiled said remaster – though under the more appropriate name of Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted.

Announced during the most recent Nintendo Direct Partner showcase, EA officially lifted the lid on Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted.

Set to arrive on the 23rd of October for £17.99, this latest release brings the iconic first entry to modern platforms “with upscaled HD graphics and packed with new secrets to uncover.”

Beyond the enhanced visuals, this ‘remaster’ brings with it a number of new and additional features, including:

  • New bonus levels
  • 2-player co-op mode
  • Local PvP mode
  • Unlockable visual options
  • New Cloudy Day Mode
  • New hardcore mode
  • Concept art

For many, their primary experience with the original Plants vs. Zombies is likely to have been through the less-than-stellar ad-filled mobile releases available on modern smartphones.

As such, it is nice to have a full, complete and future-proofed version of this classic available on current-gen systems.

KitGuru says: What do you think of Replanted as a name? Are you looking forward to any of the new modes? What do you think of the asking price? Let us know down below.
